Second Photo Story
So we just finished the second story and photo session for the book. Everyone's stories are so personal and so beautiful, that it's fun to find the perfect photo theme to go with them. Toni is an amazing lady, whose strength and independence is impressive to behold. Her story involved "wanting something worth flashing", and needing to be able to chop wood and take care of herself in her off-grid home in the woods. So Toni, and I, and my 3-year-old got into a flashing match. And then we gave Toni an axe, and I watched with the greatest of amusement to see how many times she could pretend swing it for the photo before she gave in and just HAD TO chop the wood. My woodpile is a lot bigger than it was before our session! And we both got in some much needed laughs. Who knew such a serious subject matter could be so much fun to photograph? I like my new job as "support staff" and photography assistant. :} And since I'll be there helping out for every session I'm betting there will be more incredible experiences in my near future.
